Action movies are at their prime again.
Netflix ’s global top is getting more unpredictable every week with more and more old flicks suddenly entering it after staying in the shadows for a while.
Now neighboring some other movies from years ago like Mark Wahlberg’s Four Brothers or Ryan Reynolds ’ Safe House, Tom Cruise’s 2023 big action hit Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning is also getting more attention from the streaming’s viewers.
According to the most recent data provided by FlixPatrol, the movie is now sitting in fifth place on Netflix’s global top chart.
What Is Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning About?
Coming as yet another installment of the long-standing Mission: Impossible film series, Dead Reckoning follows the most dangerous mission Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and his team have ever embarked on.
In a race against time, Hunt is set to figure out how to find a terrifying new weapon that could wipe humanity off the face of the earth before the wrong person gets full control over it. The more Ethan gets involved in a deadly game surrounded by his fiercest enemies, the more he realizes he must complete the mission, even if it means sacrificing the lives of those he loves.
Released in theaters back in 2023, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning had all the high hopes as part of the high-grossing franchise, though this time things didn’t go according to plan.
The movie grossed $567 million against the initial budget of $291 million, resulting in a loss of around $100 million for Paramount Pictures. Despite such an unexpected inability to break even, the film still got an overall acclaim landing impressive scores of 96% and 94% from critics and viewers respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.
