‘Happy Place’ Trailer Shows Reba McEntire’s Character Unwilling To Accept Young Half-sister

Reba McEntire’s Bobbie thought that she was going to inherit her father’s bar when he passed away, but surprise, on the day the will is read, she discovers that she has a way younger half-sister Isabella, played by Belissa Escobedo.

When the introduction happens, the giddy Isabella is the first to accept the fact that she has another half-sister while Bobbie would gladly have her on her way and out of her life.
“I can’t believe daddy would do a thing like that,” Reba’s Bobbie moans.

The trailer also shows Reba and Isabella at odds on how to run the bar, and when Isabella cheerily announces “drinks are on the house,” Bobbie immediately shoots it down.

However, her bartender advises her to give the girl a chance as good ideas can come from the unlikeliest of places.

Towards the end of the trailer, we get a sense that Bobbie and Isabella are starting to get along a lot better, with Bobbie confessing that she’s old enough to be Isabella’s “great-grand-maw.”

Per the show’s official description, “Reba inherits a restaurant from her late father, then learns she must share ownership with a newly discovered half-sister, creating awkward tension between the two.”

Escobedo’s Isabella is further described “as an enthusiastic 20-something, who has studied psychology and loves to analyze people. She is thrilled to start working at the tavern and is full of “great” ideas about how to bring it to life.”

The show also stars Reba McEntire’s real-life boyfriend Rex Linn as tavern cook Emmett.
At the moment, no official release date has been announced, though the show is scheduled to air on Friday nights at 8/7c on NBC.
