Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine will return to coach a new generation of singers on The Voice. The move comes as a shock to fans who thought he’d never come back

The judge’s panel is getting a major shakeup on The Voice.

A veteran to the show, Adam Levine, will be making a major comeback. He’ll be joined by Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé and John Legend. For those who haven’t noticed, John will be the only returner from last season, causing a major upheaval for the game as singers will need to re-strategize if they want to get claimed by a mentor.

Adam was on the show for 16 consecutive seasons when he helped debut the show in 2011. When the Maroon 5 lead singer departed the show, he was replaced by Gwen Stefani who has since moved on.

He took to Instagram to clue everyone in with a fun video where he showcased his fans begging for him to rejoin the cast. Adam wrote in the caption: “The OG is back in the building! I’M COMING BACK to #TheVoice next Spring 2025 Can’t wait! V27.”

His return comes as a shock because he previously said it wasn’t in the cards. In fact, in 2020, a fan asked him to come back, but Adam just replied, “No thank you,” shutting down the prospect entirely.

As for why he originally departed, it was never really addressed. However, he did have a young family at the time and, after his exit, he told Ellen that he was enjoying spending time with them. He added: “Now I’m just, like, a stay-at-home dad. I just stay home and do very little. It’s great.”

Adam isn’t the only one to revisit the show, despite being the only one who previously held a full-time gig there. Kelsea also has some experience in The Voice studio. She’s been a part-time coach for two season and also appeared as an adviser once. Now, though, she’ll be seeing it from a whole new perspective.

Fans flooded Adam’s Instagram comments with immediate love, looking forward to seeing The Voice royalty return. “Let’s go big vibes baby hell yes,” wrote one. Another added: “OMG!!!! Big blessings and Big vibes!!!! Let’s turn it up!” They began making predictions on who is going to win it all and, given his past, they’re pretty confident Adam will be crowned victorious.
