The Voice season 25 is wrapping up the competition, but as part of the celebration, we’re about to get the ultimate TV nostalgia.
As the NBC series comes to a close, folks are anxious to learn if Karen Waldrup, Nathan Chester, Josh Sanders, Asher HaVon or Bryan Olesen will be crowned the winner of season 25. While we have to tune in and find out, NBC Insider revealed the season finale on May 21 at 9 p.m. ET will be a star-studded event. The Voice will mark 25 seasons by reuniting coaches of seasons past for the occasion.
Per the outlet, coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, CeeLo Green, Niall Horan, Jennifer Hudson, Nick Jonas, Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani will all make appearances throughout the night, where they will reminisce about their time on The Voice.
And while these familiar faces won’t be performing, NBC has released the impressive lineup of guest performers slated for both episodes in the 2-part finale, which kicks off tonight, Monday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET.
Keith Urban, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett and more will grace The Voice stage on Monday and Tuesday.
The news of the former coaches returning to The Voice stage is significant, as Blake famously left the series after 23 straight seasons in May 2023. This moment will also be memorable, as he’ll reunite with Adam and CeeLo, two of the original coaches he started the show with back in 2011 (the trio also starred alongside Christina Aguilera). Gwen, on the other hand, will return to the show for season 26 as a coach alongside Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé.
As far as how Blake feels about returning to The Voice as a coach at some point, he told Entertainment Tonight in April he’d be open to coming back to the show — on one condition.
“If they were ever able to put together the original four coaches again, maybe [I’d return] for one season, a one-off,” he said at the time. “That would be fun for me… That would be something I would be interested in doing.”
