A former Coronation Street star, known for playing part of the soap’s first-ever lesbian couple, has announced that she is expecting her first child. Sacha Parkinson, 32, who appeared on the show from 2009 to 2011, shared the joyful news with a sweet Instagram post on Christmas Eve.
In a video compilation, Sacha is seen wearing festive red silk pyjamas and proudly showcasing her baby bump. She excitedly told her followers: “Merry Xmas Eve, huns – I have a feeling next year is going to be a wild one.”
Her Coronation Street co-stars quickly congratulated her. Brooke Vincent, Sacha’s former on-screen partner Sophie Webster, expressed her love with the message: “I love you all so much!”
Lucy Fallon, who portrays Bethany Platt, chimed in with: “Congratulations! Yayyyyy exciting news xxx.” Strictly winner and fellow Coronation Street star Ellie Leach couldn’t contain her excitement, commenting, “Sooooo excited.”
Georgia May Foote, who played Katy Armstrong, added: “Omg! This is amazing! Congratulations!” In October 2023, Sacha delighted her fans by announcing her engagement through a glowing selfie alongside her fiancé, proudly displaying her sparkling ring.
She playfully captioned her post: “I knew you were likely to take a wife!” followed by “SCREAMING.” She also shared more glimpses of the romantic proposal, which took place against the backdrop of a stunning sunset aboard a boat, reports the Mirror.
Since leaving the soap, Sacha has secured various acting roles and has appeared in shows such as Waterloo Road, Mr Selfridge, and Cold Feet. Most recently, she featured in the 2023 ITVX thriller Platform 7.
