Attorneys also claim Brady used a legal loophole to protect his assets from his former wife
Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen‘s high-profile 2022 divorce was widely assumed to put the NFL legend’s fortune at risk. However, new claims suggest that the 48-year-old may have acted pre-emptively to shield his wealth, as reports of a bitter split swirl.
The claims do not stop there either as reports also add that he could even have had grounds to pursue a financial claim against Bundchen herself, as their 13-year marriage ends in tears.

The couple were officially divorced in October 2022 and the Brazilian model has already moved on, having a child with Joaquim Valente – her long-time friend and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu trainer.
Media narratives often implied that Brady, with his $300 million fortune, stood to lose financially. Yet Bundchen‘s net worth, estimated at over $400 million, painted a different picture of who truly held more financial leverage.

Now a group of divorce attorneys discussed how Brady may have maneuvered his finances before initiating the split. One attorney claimed the quarterback took deliberate steps to safeguard his assets.
“He knew that the divorce was coming,” an attorney told The Bizkit podcast. “And he spent the next year transferring assets into trusts into his mom’s name.
“And when he pulled the pin, she’s like okay, I’m taking you to the cleaners for half. Sorry, Miss Bundchen, Mr. Brady owns nothing.”
What’s striking is the suggestion that the man, rather than being the party at risk, might have been in a position to claim a share of the woman’s greater wealth as they went through the legal frameworks.
“I think she was actually the breadwinner,” another lawyer added. “She made more money, which is crazy because he could have probably gone after her a little.
“But I think they were both financially set enough that it was just like, ‘All right, you go your way, I’ll go mine.'”
Fans think Tom Brady took a swipe at Bundchen: Why?
In the ex-New England Patriots star and Bundchen‘s case, tensions may have manifested in deeper philosophical differences regarding his decision to prolong his career.
And the seven-time Super Bowl champion has spoken in recent newsletters about how he saw his work ethic and professional dedication as a form of parental leadership.
“I think part of being a great father is being a great example of doing what it takes to take care of your family,” Brady wrote. “Being a great football player didn’t make me a great dad.
“But how I became a great player certainly had an impact… to do whatever it took to get better, be successful, be a role model, and to provide.”
Fans interpreted this as a subtle jab at his ex-wife, especially in light of her past statements denying that she pressured Brady to retire when he was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Though Bundchen has since removed traces of her life with Brady on social media and moved on, she did call the rumour very hurtful and wishes him well on his own journey.
