UNTAMED SEASON 2 Shakes Things Up With A Bold New Setting — But At What Cost? 💥💥💥
The hit fantasy drama is moving into dangerous new territory, and the shift could put fan-favorite characters at serious risk. With loyalties tested and alliances on the brink, Season 2 is gearing up to deliver twists that cut deeper than ever.
Full story on what the setting change means for the characters 💬👇👇

Netflix’s slow-burning crime drama series Untamed, which became its most-viewed original TV show of 2025 so far, already faces a major risk with one of its most crucial characters.
Co-creator Mark L. Smith, who also penned American Primeval for Netflix earlier this year, added, “We can make the case organic to a different kind of park, a different kind of landscape, [and] not have someone just fall off another mountain. Whichever park we choose will be a character and it will kind of play a role in Turner’s emotional frame of mind.”
Untamed Season 2 Will Follow Eric Bana’s Character In A Different Setting

While having Eric Bana’s Kyle Turner move on to a new national park does sound like a natural direction for the series to evolve, what does that development mean for Lily Santiago’s Naya Vasquez? Naya was Bana’s new sidekick in Untamed season 1, who played a key role in solving the apparent murder case of Lucy Cook.
It sounds like Bana should be having new co-stars in a new setting for Untamed season 2. Kyle packed all his things and left Yosemite in the dust at the end of Untamed season 1, but the former city cop Naya had finally started to embrace her surroundings at Yosemite the last time we see her.

Why Untamed Season 2 Needs Lily Santiago’s Naya To Return

Naya was just getting used to being a National Parks ranger in Untamed season 1. Her character arc was largely centered on her finding her footing around the rugged terrain and adjusting to the slower pace compared to her old job back in Los Angeles. Now that she’s settled in, she would be more confident and resourceful in helping Kyle solve the case if she returns in Untamed season 2.
Naya, like her Park Ranger associate Bruce Milch (played by William Smillie), also became a core part of the main plot, tone, and atmosphere. The series offered an insightful glimpse into her personal life through her child and her abusive ex-boyfriend. Even though the show was written as a miniseries, Naya was developed as a series regular character and should at least be involved in Untamed season 2.
