When I say that Jack McEvoy is missing from The Lincoln Lawyer, I don’t mean that he has a significant role in the books but not the show. That’s the case with Harry Bosch. In contrast, Jack McEvoy’s only appearance in The Lincoln Lawyer books is as a minor character in The Brass Verdict. His absence doesn’t actually impact the story very much.

Instead, I mean that Mickey Haller, Harry Bosch, and Jack McEvoy all exist within the same universe. As such, it would feel entirely appropriate for the characters from the other Michael Connelly book series to appear in The Lincoln Lawyer.

Technically, the Jack McEvoy book Fair Warning was supposed to get a movie adaptation (via Deadline), but it has been stuck in development hell for five years with no updates.
