Keep this page bookmarked as we’ll be updating it right through to the series’ eventual return, which should be in mid-to-late 2026.
If you can hardly believe it, the renewal for Ginny & Georgia season 4 actually came over two years ago, in May 2023, at the Netflix Upfronts. There, it was confirmed that seasons 3 and 4 of the show had been officially ordered, alongside some changes behind the scenes going into season 3.

How well did season 3 of Ginny & Georgia perform on Netflix?
Following its release on Netflix on June 5, 2025, the series spent six weeks in the Netflix global top 10s, clocking up 53 million views (560.9 million viewing hours) globally and featuring in the top 10 in over 90 countries.
Although it only had a few weeks to qualify, the Netflix Engagement Report, covering viewership from January to June 2025, found that the show still ranked 10th among all TV shows available – a remarkable achievement. Seasons 1 and 2 also saw big jumps in viewership.
Here’s the viewership for the three seasons stacked in a graph for their first opening six weeks. You can see season 2 had a big jump, and season 3 managed to pretty much track alongside season 2 perfectly, suggesting that fans of the show have stuck around:
What will happen in season 4 of Ginny & Georgia?
Warning: The following section contains spoilers. Proceed with caution!
In exclusive quotes to Netflix’s own website, TUDUM, Lampert told the outlet that the official theme for season 4 is Cycles and Origins as the series further delves into Georgia’s past.
A major revelation is that Georgia is pregnant, and the new season will explore who the father is—her estranged husband Paul or her friend Joe. The show will also introduce her estranged family, including her abusive stepfather and mother, and her father who she hasn’t spoken to since she was six. This season, Georgia will finally begin therapy to break the cycle of her traumatizing past.
The new season will also explore the consequences of Ginny and Austin’s actions in the Season 3 finale. Georgia will have to reckon with how her behavior has influenced her children, as she sees them re-creating her own manipulative actions. Ginny’s character will undergo a significant change, as she “fully turns into Georgia” by the end of Season 3. She will also be more connected to her dad, Zion, as they plan a trip to Korea.
Going into Season 4, Ginny will have a new “badass” persona, possibly with a new hairstyle, and will be ready to protect her family. Georgia, meanwhile, is expected to continue pushing herself to change and leave her past behind, with a “glimmer of hope” that she can improve her life. The show will focus on how her children have been changed by the events of the trial and murder, as this is considered to be the biggest consequence of Georgia’s actions.
In an interview with Popternative, Lampert has confirmed that she knows the identity of Georgia’s baby’s father, although she is keeping it a secret. She also revealed that the show’s team takes fan feedback seriously and plans to take a dedicated break to discuss the online reactions to Season 3, integrating them directly into the story.
Lampert also reflected on her experience creating the show, noting that Season 1’s reception was overwhelming, while she felt more confident during Season 2. By Season 3, she had come to embrace the high level of fan anticipation and enjoyed watching the audience’s reactions after the show was released. She emphasized that the major cliffhangers at the end of Season 3 —Georgia’s pregnancy and Ginny learning about her mother’s past —are not just dramatic twists, but “life-changing cliffhangers” that will significantly shape the characters’ journeys in the upcoming season.

Where is season 4 of Ginny & Georgia in production?
Development
Filming Scheduled
Filming Ongoing
Post-Production
Development on season 4 began in early 2025, with a social post from the writers’ room confirmed in February 2025. Among the writers for this season are Abby Israels, Jordan Dumbroff, Kale Futterman, David Monahan, Michelle Askew, Ali Kinney, Kourtney Richard, and Eboni Freeman. The WGA also lists Zachary Arthur as a story editor.
The writer’s room was confirmed to have finished on August 22nd, 2025, alongside a new picture and caption that states:
“Last day of the season four writers room for Ginny & Georgia with these incredible writers and humans who brought not only their skills but also their hearts to this season. Can’t wait for you to see what we cooked up”
Filming was originally scheduled to kick off in the Summer of 2025, although it has since been pushed back.
Instead, production is now scheduled to begin on Season 4 of Ginny & Georgia on September 29, 2025, and will run through February 25, 2026. It’ll once again be calling Toronto its filming home in Canada. The series’ budget is reportedly in the $30-$50 million range.
On September 19th, the behind-the-scenes account for Ginny & Georgia posted that production offices were open and prep had begun for its filming start in late September.
That means the show’s fourth season will be in production for 149 days (roughly 5 months), with no doubt some time around the Christmas months for stoppages. This is one of the many Netflix shows filming this Fall, and it’s not the only one in Toronto either, with Vladimir, another big production in the works there right now.
Much like prior seasons, season 4 of Ginny & Georgia will have a codename, and the codename for season 4 is: Good Company. Prior seasons have used codenames such as Common Ground and, most recently, Tulips and Tuxes.
To some, these filming dates may come as a surprise, given the show’s extended renewal, while others will be thankful it’s returning at all. Either way, if you were expecting a new season of Ginny & Georgia imminently, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
When will Ginny & Georgia season 4 be on Netflix?
With those production dates, it pretty much rules out a release in the first half of 2026.
Instead, we’re expecting, given the average post-production time on this show and other similar shows, to see the return sometime in the back half of 2026. That’s anywhere from the Summer through Christmas. We suspect that it’ll be sometime in the middle, but we’ll keep you posted.
Will there be a season 5 of Ginny & Georgia?
It’s a little too early to tell on this one, although viewership numbers definitely suggest more content is on the way.
Speaking with Deadline, Lampert has been keen to say that there’s plenty more story to be told. She told the Hollywood trade, “I always thought it would end at season 4, just because I knew what the ending was, let’s say, but what we’re finding in the writers’ room for this season is that there’s actually more there,” adding, “It would almost feel rushed to get to that ending for it to happen in four. I’m not Netflix. I can’t control whether or not there’s a season 5, but I would say what we discovered very early on in the season 4’s writers’ room is, oh, there’s more story here.”
