Will There Be a Season 6 of ‘Emily in Paris’? What We Know So Far About the Netflix Show’s Future

In season 5, Emily spent time in Rome with Marcello. While she (spoiler alert) ended the season single, the series is hinting that she could end up with Gabriel again after Bravo was largely absent from season 5. ow. Bravo was previously outspoken about his issues with Gabriel’s onscreen story but he is expected to return in a possible season 6.

“Gabriel is important. He’s part of the DNA of the show,” director and executive producer Andrew Fleming exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2025. “When he and Emily are in a scene together, something undefinable happens. They have this chemistry. They do. There’s just something about the two of them that’s very watchable.”

Fleming shut down assumptions that Gabriel is no longer the focus of the show.

“We want to go on a journey,” he noted. “At no point was Lucas ever leaving the show permanently. … He did have a commitment. He had a movie that he was doing. So we worked around that.”

Creator Darren Star, meanwhile, said season 5 included “the right amount” of Gabriel. “He really wasn’t consulted [on Gabriel’s season 5 arc], and he just chose to come back to the show,” Star told Decider at the time. “The story line worked out.”

Star continued, “Because that’s not where Emily’s story was, or where we ever planned it to be in season 5. The story line wasn’t about Emily and Gabriel. At the same time, it was great to have him and keep him in the world of the show.”

When Would ‘Emily in Paris’ Return for Season 6?

Based on when the show has been released in the past, the sixth season would likely be filmed in spring of 2026 before airing later that year.

Which ‘Emily in Paris’ Cast Members Would Be Featured in Season 6?

Collins, Bravo, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie and Lucien Laviscount are expected to play a large role in the future. Camille Razat exited the series before season 5 and it remains to be seen whether Eugenio Franceschini would reprise his role as Marcello.

Paul Forman and Minnie Driver would also return after being major players in season 5.

Where Did ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5 End?

Emily and Marcello found their way back to each other in the second half of season 5 — but the idea of a proposal made them realize that he wanted to be in Rome while Emily preferred Paris. They called it quits for good, which Gabriel was made aware of courtesy of Sylvie (Leroy-Beaulieu).

Gabriel was absent from most of the season but the final scene of the season showed him in Greece writing a postcard for Emily where he asked her to visit. This left the future of Emily and Gabriel’s romance unclear — for now.

Another love triangle this season involved Mindy (Park) secretly hooking up with Alfie (Laviscount) after splitting from Nico (Forman). They called it quits once Emily found out but there were still feelings there. Nico returned to Mindy’s life, she took him back and they ultimately got engaged — as Lucien was planning to fight for her.

Another breakup involved Sylvie ending her marriage and having brief romantic entanglements throughout the season.

Has a Location for Season 6 Been Chosen?

“Assuming we’re picked up, I want to go back to Paris. But I want to go other places too,” Fleming exclusively told Us in December 2025. “It’s teased where we might end up going at the end of season 5 — there’s a possibility we’ll be going there, to Greece.”

Arnold, who plays Julian, was excited at the prospect of a relocation, telling Us, “I am not going to lie. If they want to shoot in Greece, whatever the reason I say, ‘Let’s go.’ I’ve never been to Greece.”

What Would Season 6 Mean for Emily and Gabriel?

Star teased plans for the main couple, telling The Hollywood Reporter in December 2025, “I don’t think that Emily and Gabriel would be … I don’t think it’ll be an instant relationship, though I do believe that people can find their way back to each other.”

Fleming also hinted at the show’s plans. “Looking ahead, they’re part of each other’s journey. Who is to say who Emily is going to end up with, but Emily and Gabriel are going to interact with each other,” he told Us. “Stuff is going to happen [but] I really can’t say anything about what’s going to happen next season.”

Could Bryan Greenberg Be Back?

If you ask Emily in Paris fans … yes. His character Jake had a brief arc in season 5, which has inspired viewers to find ways to incorporate him in the future. The popular theory is that Emily will have issues when traveling to Greece — and Jake will return to help from the Embassy.
