TUCSON, Ariz. (TNND) — Investigators are going on 12 days of their search for the missing mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, with very few leads and scant evidence as agents scour the neighborhood near her home and request security camera footage from two specific days in January.
An alert posted on the Neighbor App by Ring, according to CNN, asked neighbors for footage from “January 11 between 9 p.m. and midnight, more than two weeks before the 84-year-old went missing, and January 31 between 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., flagging a suspicious vehicle in the area around 10 a.m.”
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 after leaving a family dinner and being dropped off at her home.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday that it has received nearly 18,000 calls to its tip line related to her disappearance.
Anyone with information has been asked to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, 88-CRIME or tips.fbi.gov. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office can also be contacted at 520-351-4900.
The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for any information or tips related to the case.
On Wednesday, agents said that they launched “an extensive search” in an Arizona neighborhood near Nancy Guthrie’s home.
The New York Post reported that agents discovered a black glove from a road that’s located about a mile and a half from the home. It wasn’t clear if authorities believe it to be the same glove worn by the person seen in doorbell camera footage released by the FBI.
FBI Director Kash Patel shared photos and two videos in a post on X Tuesday afternoon.
“Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors – including the removal of recording devices,” Patel wrote.
In the footage, the person is wearing a backpack, a long-sleeved shirt, and pants — as well as what appeared to be a handgun holster attached to their waist — while walking up to the door. It shows the person trying to cover a camera near the front door with their gloved hand before putting plants in front of the camera.
The images depict “an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” FBI Director Kash Patel said.

A person of interest, Carlos Palazuelos, was released by law enforcement on Wednesday after several hours in custody.
Palazuelos identified himself as the one detained by police, saying that he works as a delivery driver in Tucson and was detained after a traffic stop.
After being released, he told reporters outside of his home in Rio Rico that he was “innocent,” and that law enforcement held him against his will, saying that he had never heard of the alleged kidnapping of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.
