Netflix has officially renewed its hit legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer for a fifth season. Adapted from Michael Connelly’s bestselling book series, the show stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as defence lawyer Mickey Haller.
The character operates from his Lincoln Navigator, handling complex legal cases across the Netflix series. The fourth season, which dropped on Netflix in February, saw Mickey wrongfully accused of murdering one of his most affluent clients. He was forced to mount his own defence whilst incarcerated.
Co-showrunners Dailyn Rodriguez and Ted Humphrey expressed their excitement about the renewal. “Season four is the most challenging and intensely personal journey we’ve taken Mickey Haller on yet, and we’re thrilled and grateful to be able to continue the ride in season five!”
The upcoming season will feature 10 hour-long episodes and draw from Connelly’s sixth Mickey Haller novel, Resurrection Walk. Main cast members including Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson are all set to return.
Cobie Smulders will also reprise her role as Allison, Mickey’s sister, who was introduced in the explosive fourth season finale. Whilst no specific release date has been announced, showrunners suggest the series will return sometime in 2027.
