On March 5, Princess Kate spoke about her children’s love of dance during her visit to Leicester. She visited the city to celebrate the culture, community and heritage of the British Indian community there, following the Hindu festival of Holi on March 4.

The Princess of Wales, 44, was treated to a Bollywood dance performance at The Aakash Odedra Company and said that her three children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — would be impressed with the group’s moves.

“You must be super fit because it’s super energetic,” Princess Kate said after seeing the routine, the Daily Mail reported. “My children would love that; they love their dancing. Louis would love your dance routine.”

Kate’s also visited Shreeji Dham Haveli, a Hindu Temple serving the local Vaishnav community, where she heard how the Haveli recently celebrated Holi and how the festival commemorates the start of spring, spiritual renewal and community connection.

The Daily Mail reported that it was Kate’s first official visit to a Hindu temple in Britain, and she respected protocol by removing her shoes there.

At the temple, Princess Kate jumped at the chance to join a traditional ladies’ dance during a religious ceremony. The royal was game when invited to participate and said, “Oh, go on then,” joining the circle of women as she went barefoot.

“It was absolutely amazing,” said Mayur Kachela, a member of the temple’s executive committee who showed Kate around.

“She was really acknowledging what we’re doing here, and really engaged. This is part of our faith, and it was very nice that she acknowledged what we’re doing,” he told the outlet.
