The release of the 8th ‘Mission Impossible’ film is delayed again, this time due to a malfunction with a £23 million submarine during filming. Paramount has temporarily halted production because of this issue.

The 8th instalment of the ‘Mission Impossible’ franchise just keeps getting delayed. This time it has been delayed because of a malfunction while filming with a filming with a £23M submarine.
That is crazy. You can only hear this kind of news from a Tom Cruise film.
According to The Mirror, Paramount has temporarily stopped production of Mission: Impossible 8’ due to this incident.
Sources close to the production revealed that the gimbal, which which is used to lower the 120ft-high structure, jammed under its weight and had to be repaired. This has pushed filming back for weeks.
“They’re not happy as it puts production behind, which costs a lot of money per day,” revealed one source.
The highly anticipated 8th instalment’s production was previously interrupted by the global pandemic Covid-19 and then the WAG and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year. The 8th instalment was originally supposed to release this summer but it has been delayed to May 2025. The exact release date is not yet known.
The delay is causing a lot of hurt to us fans but Tom Cruise needs time to produce epic and kick-ass films. We will give him all the time he needs so that he can save movies again.

‘Dead Reckoning’ was a huge blockbuster when it released. Tom Cruise is being lauded as the person who his singlehandedly bringing people back to the theatres. His sequel for ‘Top Gun’ earned more than $1 billion worldwide. This came right after Covid settled down so it is a big deal.
‘Dead Reckoning’ follows Ethan Hunt and his crew on their most dangerous mission yet. They were searching for a two piece cruciform key that controls an advanced AI known at The Entity. The end of ‘Dead Reckoning’ shows Hunt obtain the two keys. The 8th part is expected to follow Hunt and the IMF team try to stop the AI from getting into the wrong hands.
