Blind auditions for “The Voice” are back, and so is Season 1 contestant Kelsey Laverack.
Thirteen years later, she’s back and performing under a new name: Felsmere.
Laverack, now 33, was born in Sebastian, but the singer cherishes memories with her late father in Fellsmere. After his death in 2016, she adopted the stage name “Felsmere” as an homage to the memories of her father, according to her artist’s profile page.
Her audition aired Monday, Sept. 30, where she sang “Some Kind of Wonderful” by Grand Funk Railroad. Her performance prompted judges Michael Bublé and Gwen Stefani to turn their chairs for her.
She ultimately chose Team Gwen for her second shot on “The Voice.”
How did Felsmere do on “The Voice” season one?
Laverack, who was 20 at the time, auditioned under the name Kelsey Rey for the inaugural season of the singing show in 2011, where she received a three-chair turn from the panel of judges — CeeLo Green, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine — for her performance of “American Boy” by Estelle.
She joined Green’s team and was eliminated during the battle round after she performed Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten” against The Thompson Sisters.
