Charlize Theron will host the fourth annual summer Block Party benefit for her Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) on July 13.
The festivities will celebrate the release of “Twisters” with the movie’s starry cast – Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Brandon Perea, Anthony Ramos, Paul Scheer and Sasha Lane – and its director Lee Isaac Chung expected to be in attendance.
The guest list will also include Jason Reitman, Thuso Mbedu, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Patton Oswalt, Patty Jenkins, Noxolo Dlamini, June Diane Raphael and January Jones.
The evening, which will take place on the Universal Studios Backlot, will include performances by Lainey Wilson and Tanner Adell. The program will also feature a conversation with two leaders from South Africa, Neo Mohajane and Miché Williams, highlighting the impact CTAOP has had on the health and safety of young people.
CTAOP invests in and advances the health and safety of young people in South Africa to create a more equitable future for all. CTAOP’s approach supports community-based organizations by providing funding, building community and amplifying their voices. This helps ensure the youth they serve are on a path to reaching their full potential and have the knowledge, tools and skills to keep themselves healthy and safe. In addition, CTAOP’s Youth Leaders Scholarship program provides young leaders in South Africa with full scholarships for their tertiary journey. To date, CTAOP-supported programs have reached over 4.1 million young people.
The CTAOP Block Party 2024 is sponsored by Dior, CAA, Breitling, Universal Pictures and Solyco Capital.
