Reba McEntire is set to co-produce and star in The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion, an adaptation of the 2013 New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Fannie Flagg.

Jeremy Latcham will co-produce the film for Wonder Project.

The film’s director, Oscar winning Callie Khouri, is also one of the producers.

Playwright/screenwriter Bekah Brunstetter wrote the script for The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion. The film follows an Alabama family whose legacy and bonds are tested when one of its members, Sookie Poole, begins receiving letters that suggest she was adopted.

McEntire said in a statement, “I’ve always been a fan of Fannie Flagg and her writing, and it’s been an honor to call her my friend for the past decade. I cannot wait to work with this incredible team to bring another one of her special stories to life on the big screen.”

The Grammy-winning, Golden Globe-nominated country artist currently stars on NBC’s sitcom “Happy’s Place” and returns as a coach on the music reality show, “The Voice.”
