Tom Cruise’s daughter, Suri, who is reportedly estranged from her father, celebrated her 18th birthday in the US while he was filming in London.
Suri was seen in New York on Wednesday, holding a lovely bouquet of pink carnations and dressed in denim, seemingly preparing for her birthday festivities far away from her father.
Recent photos show Suri enjoying her 18th birthday celebrations, walking with a friend and carrying bags of presents.
Despite the rain in downtown Manhattan, she was all smiles, not letting the weather ruin her special day.
It is believed that Suri spent her big day with her mother, Katie Holmes, at their home in the States.

She has lived separately from her father for over ten years, and it seems he is currently busy filming in London.
Tom is working on scenes for the upcoming Mission Impossible movie and was seen just yesterday filming an intense scene involving a helicopter.
It doesn’t appear likely that he’ll be able to fly to America to celebrate his daughter’s milestone birthday.

Recent reports indicate that Tom has very little involvement in the life of his daughter Suri. It is understood that Suri, who is the daughter of Cruise and actress Katie, has begun applying to colleges without her father’s assistance due to their strained relationship.
Speculation suggests she may be considering a fashion course in New York.
Sources report that Holmes is playing a central role in the application process as she aids Suri into her next phase of life.

“Suri does not know her father anymore and she has not spent time with him in a decade. She does not go to see his movies and he has no part in her life,” an insider told MailOnline.
Despite his lack of involvement in Suri’s day-to-day life, Cruise will cover her tuition fees as per his divorce agreement with Holmes.
The details of the agreement reveal that Cruise agreed to contribute $400,000 monthly until Suri celebrates her 18th birthday.
Other provisions included covering all of Suri’s expenses spanning from “medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs”.
Katie Holmes reportedly ‘shielded’ her 18-year-old from the limelight and her former spouse’s religious beliefs.
The couple married in a Scientologist ceremony in Italy in 2006, but over time, Katie felt ‘intimidated’ by the church.
Reports suggest that after witnessing Nicole Kidman, Tom’s first wife, become estranged from their children, Katie was determined not to raise Suri as a Scientologist.
She was incensed when Church of Scientology members moved into their shared home.
Ron Miscavige, father of Scientology leader David, described the church’s “toxic” policy of “disconnection” to MailOnline.
In an interview five years before his death in 2016, he revealed: “That didn’t sit so well with Katie.”
