Remember when Heather Locklear and Tom Cruise went on that date? Well, she just revealed why there was never a second date.

During a recent panel at 90s Con Florida via People, Locklear talked about how she and Cruise met.

“So at that time he was just like this little baby boy that I feel like I was a little bit older, and he ended up coming over to my house with Sean Penn,” she said. “And they were just nice, but he was very, ‘yes ma’am’ to me, and I was like, ‘okay, sir.’”

Because of this, and her “rock and roll girl” persona at the time, that’s why Cruise “didn’t quite cut it” for a second date.

She recalled the ate on the panel, saying, “We went out dancing to Club Lingerie at that time and, and I’ve said this before, I mean, he was really cute.”

She then talked about his dance movies, and the iconic moves that ended up in Risky Business. “He actually did that before [the movie], and I was dancing along like, ‘Do you stop dancing if they’re down there?’ I was like ‘Yay!’ But he was very nice to me.”

While Locklear looks back on this fondly, it definitely seems like it was for the best that there wasn’t a second date for the unlikely pals.

Now, this actually isn’t the first time she’s mentioned this story because back in a 2013 interview on Chelsea Lately, Handler said they had both “auditioned for something” together, back when Tom “didn’t have friends” in Hollywood in the early ’80s.

“You know in ‘Risky Business’ where he does that dance in his underwear and does the splits? We were dancing at a club and he went into that. He starting doing the splits,” Locklear said. “You just kind of stand there and don’t know what to do. Do you dance around him? So, I was like, ‘I’ll just sit down and you can.’”
