A well-known Inverness choir leader and voice coach will be taking part to a UK-wide TV singing contest.

Tony Henry, founder of gospel choir Highland Voices and who has been a voice coach for charity event Ness Factor for many years has been announced among the contestants of The Voice UK 2024 – with his first appearance in the show set to be broadcast tonight (September 21) at 8.30pm on ITV.

After supporting other singers in their careers for the past 25 years, Mr Henry will return to the scenes as a solo artist.

Mr Henry began his career as a ballet dancer when he was accepted into the The Central School of Ballet in London, followed by five years in the West End featuring in The Starlight Express, all the while being a stunt man, before deciding he was better at singing than stunts.

He has previously performed at The Royal Albert Hall and was signed with Warner in the early 2000s.

The Voice UK will be airing tonight (September 21) at 8.30pm on ITV.
