Is Tom Cruise’s Controversial Trait Driving a Wedge Between Him and the Beckhams?

Tom Cruise must be busier than ever with his last Mission: Impossible saga & a potential Days of Thunder sequel but that may not be all he’s eyeing

Tom Cruise has been an integral part of the Hollywood machine, propelling it from the infancy of 21st-century espionage thrillers to heights never achieved before. With his Mission: Impossible saga, Cruise ditched his Oscar-baiting filmography from the 90s and transitioned into a full-time action hero, earning the title of the world’s only remaining true movie star.

However, separating art from the artist is a thing of the past, and for Tom Cruise, popular culture’s fondness for dissecting art with moral, political, and social implications bears a heavy price. His stardom and status may amass billions of fans and impress the studio execs with box office earnings, but there might be someone who refuses to be swayed by all the hype and ruckus.

Are the Beckhams Done With Tom Cruise?

Tom Cruise and the Beckhams have always been somewhat of a rare item. The English football legend David Beckham and Posh Spice Victoria Beckham have been seen and photographed on countless occasions like London pubs and the Euro 2020 final with the Top Gun star. But what could have been a beautiful story about a lifelong friendship has now been muddied by suppositions and rumors.

A recent report from a source speaking to In Touch suggests:

Tom is going to be spending more time in Florida and is hitting up the Beckhams. He doesn’t have a lot of friends anymore, so he’s focused on wooing them. [Cruise has been] bombarding them and saying he can’t wait to hang out. They aren’t blowing him off completely. They’ve responded once or twice but they’re not committing to anything. They think he’s a little weird — he has to control every social situation, and they’re not into that!

Although the veracity of the source can’t be confirmed and neither party has been asked or offered to comment on the matter, there is no way that the report’s authenticity can be judged. Even so, it is hard to imagine Cruise spending all his free time in between movies chasing down the Beckhams around Florida when he must have more pressing matters to attend to.

Tom Cruise’s Reputation Comes Into Question

If not discredit Tom Cruise’s reputation with the reported quote from the insider, there is nothing much to attach to Cruise’s personality other than his association with Scientology. The Church’s influence in his life has, for a long time, been a concern for the masses and its controvertible principles have projected a negative spotlight on the film star more than once in his career.

However, each time, Tom Cruise has weathered the storm, starting from his volatile interviews in the early Aughts with Matt Lauer in Today and with Peter Overton in 60 Minutes Australia. His controversial philosophies and beliefs have been contested by actresses Brooke Shields and Leah Remini.

Now, with this new allegation against him, the fans wouldn’t find it too hard to believe that Cruise could be a tad too controlling in social situations. But with no evidence to back up these claims, it might be better to not jump to conclusions regarding the Mission: Impossible star just yet.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part II is scheduled to premiere on 21 May 2025.
