The Miami Dolphins wide receiver returned to limited practice on Thursday as he continues his recovery from a wrist injury.
The fitness status of Tyreek Hill seems to be improving as the Miami Dolphins wide receiver returned to limited practice on Thursday.
Hill was absent from team practice on Wednesday as he recovers from a wrist injury sustained weeks earlier. The 30-year-old has remained a consistent presence in the Dolphins team throughout that period but was one of five players to sit out the Wednesday session.
However the prospects for Hill are positive ahead of this weekend’s Week 14 meeting with the New York Jets. After returning to practice on Thursday it looks like he has simply been given some time off as we approach the final stretch of the regular season. Tyreek Hill is expected to start for the Dolphins against the Jets.
Is Tyreek Hill going to retire after the season?
The 2024 NFL season has been underwhelming for both Hill and his Dolphins teammates. One of the preseason favourites in the East, the Dolphins have slipped to a 5-7 record and lost against the Green Bay Packers last weekend.
Tyreek Hill remains a key player for the Dolphins but seemed to cast doubt on his own future earlier this week with a cryptic social media post. Hill wrote: “Love what you do cause it will soon end,” alongside a photo of him emerging onto the field for the Dolphins.
It was taken by some to be a hint at retirement, particularly considering his previous comments about career plans. In a 2023 interview with SportsRadio810 Hill outlined his intention to play in the NFL for a decade and then transition to “the business side”.
Ahead of the 2024 season he restructured his contract to ensure more guaranteed money, without adding any additional years on the deal. His current contract with the Dolphins expires at the end of the 2026 season. Hill has another couple of years in Miami to help bring home a long-awaited third Super Bowl, the team’s first since 1973.
