In an interview with Konbini, actress Léa Seydoux professed her admiration for Tom Cruise and his filmography. She expressed dismay at the thought that the actor still hasn’t gotten his own Oscar statuette.
I’m a big Tom Cruise fan. To do something as subtle as “Eyes Wide Shut” and to also make an action film like this one, it’s mind-blowing. He’s a major actor. It’s very strange to me that he has never won an Oscar.
The French star believes that Cruise is “the biggest star in the world” and that “there’s more of a mystery to him” than actors like Brad Pitt, a fellow Hollywood A-lister. The Bond girl even said that No Time to Die actor Daniel Craig is no match for Cruise in a fight.
The 62-year-old actor received four Academy Award nominations. He got two Best Actors nods for 1990’s Born on the Fourth of July and 1997’s Jerry Maguire. He also earned a Best Supporting Actor for 2000’s Magnolia, and a Best Picture nod for 2023’s Top Gun: Maverick, where he served as a producer.
