The Voice UK made its highly-anticipated return to ITV1 on Saturday night
The Voice UK returned to our screens on ITV1 on Saturday, introducing a fresh group of hopefuls ready to impress with their vocal talents. Among them was West End performer Zalika Henry, known for her role in The Lion King.
Zalika’s rendition of Daylight captivated the coaches, leading all four to turn their chairs in approval. After a tough decision, she chose to join Sir Tom Jones’ team, sharing a warm embrace with the music icon before leaving the stage.
However, some viewers took issue with the show, accusing it of being “fixed” and criticising the inclusion of already established performers. One disgruntled viewer tweeted: “Aww this is all fixed #TheVoiceUK,” accompanied by an angry emoji.

Another echoed these sentiments, commenting: “What a fix! #TheVoiceUK.”
A third viewer lamented the lack of amateur singers, stating: “What happened to the average person going on the show to see if they were any good? Far too many singers already partly in the business. #TheVoiceUK.”, reports the Express.
One more added: “#TheVoiceUK i just wish professional singers werent able to join The Voice, takes away the rawness of someone trying to make it in the music game.”
Despite the criticism, not all viewers shared this sentiment. One fan expressed their delight at Zalika’s performance, tweeting: “#TheVoiceUk I love zalika Henry the fact she is a west end singer makes me so happy I love her! And she is singing harry styles!”
Sir Tom Jones and Will. I.Am, the two coaches who have been part of the show since its inception in 2012, are joined by The Voice Kids coach Danny Jones and his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher. US singer LeAnn Rimes, who has previously participated in the Australian version, is also on board.
