The Voice season 26 contestant Kamila

The Voice season 26 aired round two of the blind auditions this week on Monday, September 30, 2024. The segment saw a new batch of singers take to the stage as they sang in hopes of getting the coaches to turn around. One such person was the 17-year-old Kamila Kiehne who sang Black Velvet by Alannah Myles and received three Chair Turns.

Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Michael Bublé turned their chairs for her while Gwen Stefani also praised the contestant. She ultimately chose Michael Bublé as her mentor and gave the coaches a gift before she left. She handed them rings and “bolo ties”.

She became the fourth member of Michael’s team.

“It really reminded me of when I saw Kelly Clarkson the very first time”— Michael Bublé praises Kamila’s The Voice blind audition

On September 30, 2024, Kamila Kiehne appeared on The Voice season 26. Ahead of her performance, she said she couldn’t believe she was set to perform in front of “these four amazing Coaches.”

“I have been dreaming about this for so long. Hearing the button press would make me shiver in my boots,” she said.

She opened up about her musical journey and said that she first started singing at the age of 9. The Voice season 26 contestant sang Dang Devil at her church. Since then, she has sung the National Anthem at multiple sports events but her church was her “favorite place on Earth.”

Her rendition of Black Velvet impressed all four The Voice season 26 judges but she got three out of four pressed buzzers. After her performance, Michael Bublé praised her and said she “killed it.” He added that he couldn’t give her a “better voice” but could help her choose the songs that would take her “to the next echelon.”

The season 26 coach said that he loved entertaining and he could see a “light” pouring out of Kamila. He said that he would love to help her become the “greatest” she could be.

Gwen Stefani also praised the singer and called her performance “beautiful.” Although Stefani didn’t turn around, she said that she missed out but her young age could be the reason. She said that she felt Kamila didn’t have “complete control” of the song but she loved her tone.

The Voice season 26’s Reba McEntire said she could tell Kamila sang from the heart and invited her to join her team. Snoop Dogg reminded the contestant he was the first one to turn around for her.

He said that she “touched” him when she sang the first note. Snoop Dog stated that he also came from a “church background” and it would be fitting for her to join his team. He said that he could give her the “fundamental” direction to get her to the “pearly gates.”

Ultimately, Kamila chose Michael Bublé. The judge explained why he picked her and said that he reached for the button as fast as he could after listening to the first two notes.

“I didn’t want to say it because I didn’t want to put pressure on her, but it really reminded me of when I saw Kelly Clarkson the very first time. Wow, what a voice,” he said.
