Netflix is partnering with rapper 50 Cent to produce a docuseries on American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, focusing on the sexual abuse and violent threat allegations against him.
According to Variety, the project, announced on Sept. 25 and directed by Alexandria Stapleton, will explore a complex story spanning decades and is currently in production.
“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” 50 Cent and Stapleton said in an exclusive statement to Variety.

Diddy was arrested on Sept. 16, facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and violent abuse. According to Daily Mail, prosecutors have interviewed over 50 victims and witnesses, with numbers expected to rise. Diddy has pleaded not guilty and requested $50 million bail, but the judge denied his request.
According to CNN, 50 Cent and Diddy have a long-standing strained relationship. In 2006, 50 Cent released the song “The Bomb,” in which he accused Diddy of being aware of the identity of Christopher Wallace’s killer, better known as The Notorious B.I.G., who was both Diddy’s protégé and close friend. Additionally, 50 Cent wrote the track “Hip Hop,” which alluded to the questionable activities that took place at Diddy’s “White Parties” for New York’s elite. The rapper has also voiced suspicions regarding Combs’ potential involvement in the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur.
Diddy has faced numerous accusations, leading to controversy over claims that he used his “power and prestige” to pressure women into sexual activities, instructed employees to manipulate women into these situations, and helped cover up crimes. However, the documentary team stresses that Diddy’s behavior does not reflect the hip hop culture. “We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions,” said 50 Cent.
The documentary was first announced in December 2023, after Diddy was sued by four women, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. 50 Cent also posted a video on the social media platform X, in which rapper Mark Curry accused Diddy of regularly spiking champagne at his parties before women consumed it. The documentary team is dedicated to giving a voice to vulnerable individuals, and proceeds from the series will be directed toward supporting sexual assault victims.
