Reba McEntire is appearing on two separate NBC shows this fall — appearing both as a coach on The Voice and as the star of new sitcom Happy’s Place — and she says the double duty has lots of fun crossover potential.

With two shows taking place on the same studio lot, and often during the same block of days, the country star says it would be easy for stars from one show to pop in and make cameos on the other.

In a new interview with TV Insider, McEntire says her fellow The Voice judges would make a Happy’s Place cameo “in a skinny minute.”

“Snoop wants to be on the show. Michael Bublé wants to be on the show. Gwen will just come visit, she didn’t say she wanted to be on the show,” she continues.

Season 26 of The Voice will premiere on Sept. 23, with McEntire making her third consecutive appearance as a coach on the show. Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg are both making their debuts this season, with Stefani returning after a few seasons away from the show.

Meanwhile, Happy’s Place kicks off on Oct. 18, and will find McEntire reuniting with several old friends. Multiple producers who worked on the singer’s beloved 2000s sitcom Reba are returning for her new show. Additionally, Melissa Peterman — who played Barbra Jean Hart on Reba — and McEntire’s boyfriend Rex Linn are also on the Happy’s Place cast list.

“Some days [the shoots] are overlapping,” McEntire explains about her two TV projects. “But it’s so much better than two years ago when I was doing Big Sky in Albuquerque for ABC, and then flying to the east coast for concerts on the weekend. This is a piece of cake.”

Peterman, who also spoke to TV Insider to promote Happy’s Place, is hoping that once Stefani gets on the set of the sitcom, she’ll want to hop on camera.

“Maybe Gwen could play my sister! I said that because I want everyone to think we look a lot alike,” she jokes. “She’s just awesome.”

Happy’s Place finds McEntire playing a woman named Bobbie, who inherits a restaurant from her father.
She soon discovers a half-sister (played by Belissa Escobedo) whom she never knew she had.
The pair become unlikely business partners.
In real life, McEntire is 69 to Escobedo’s 25, so expect plenty of generational gap humor.

Peterman and McEntire remain very good friends, with the actress and comedian often appearing during specials like the ACM Awards. They’re a peanut butter and jelly kind of duo, but on her own Peterman has been very successful. Most notably, for six seasons she starred as Bonnie, the mother on Baby Daddy on ABC Family.

Beginning in fall 2024, Peterman will join McEntire on Happy’s Place on NBC.

On social media, he identifies as a musician, actor, writer and comedian but his profiles have been pretty quiet for the last few years. We can confirm he got married in 2020.
