As Suri Cruise is all grown up now and going to college, we’re taking a look back at her life as the daughter of former Hollywood couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

While Suri has no public social media accounts and has been shielded from the spotlight by her famous A-list parents, fans are captivated by Suri’s life and future endeavors. Despite her low profile, fans have still caught glimpses of Suri growing up,from her “spiritual” birth in 2006, navigating her parents’ infamous divorce and dropping her dad’s famous last name.

Many have been interested in Suri’s family’s dynamic as she and her father are known to have a strained relationship following her parents’ public split. And as Suri made the move to legally switch her name to Suri Noelle ahead of attending Carnegie Mellon University in the fall, many believe she is trying to cut ties with her famous father.

In November 2006, Tom and Katie had an extravagant wedding together after welcoming their first child Suri in April of the same year. At the lavish ceremony held inside an Italian castle, Suri was just a baby and was seen all dressed up in a little white gown matching her moms.

Tom and Katie celebrate year as first-time parents

Throughout 2007 Katie and Tom were seen bringing Suri on many firsts as they enjoyed their time as young parents. During a sweet sports outing, Katie was seen propping her daughter Suri on her lap as the pair sat from the sidelines and watched the LA Galaxy vs. Chelsea FC soccer game in Carson, California.

Suri’s dad Tom Cruise joined the Church of Scientology

In 2008, Tom was seen in dad-mode as he was seen sweetly lifting his young daughter and carrying her as they navigated the busy streets of New York City. This is the same year Tom joined the Church of Scientology. During this time an internal video was leaked to the public in which the actor was heard discussing what the religion means to him.



Suri’s dad Tom thrived in the Mission Impossible franchise

In 2011, Tom and Katie were spotted with their young daughter, who could now walk on her own, as they took a stroll in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tom was in the hay day of his career at the time and was deep into the Mission Impossible franchise reprising is role as Ethan Hunt in the fourth action movie Ghost Protocol.



Suri lived through Katie and Tom’s bitter divorce

In 2012, Katie filed for divorce from Tom after six years of marriage together while Suri was five years old. One of the concerns raised during their split was Katie not wanting her impressionable young daughter Suri to be raised under the Church of Scientology.

Suri celebrated major milestones without Tom

In 2015, Katie was snapped with her nine-year-old daughter Suri as they celebrated the special day at the Gilded Lily in New York City. After Katie and Tom’s divorce was settled within 11 days, Suri’s dad was absent from many major milestones throughout her life including her first day of school and her 10th birthday party.



Suri also saw mom Katie split from Jamie Foxx

In 2019, 13-year-old Suri was at the end of middle school and was snapped going for a stroll with her famous mom in the Upper West Side. During this time, her mom Katie broke off her six-year-long romance with actor Jamie Foxx before having a brief fling with Nolita restaurateur Emilio Vitolo Jr. in 2021.



Suri and Katie navigated the pandemic together

In 2020, 15-year-old Suri and her mom Katie were seen going on an afternoon stroll together with their face masks on as they navigated the Covid-19 pandemic together in New York City.



Suri dropped Tom’s famous last name in 2024

As Suri is legally an adult and heading off to college to study fashion, the newly 18-year-old has officially cut ties with her dad after years of distance and changed her name to Suri Noelle. This new name has sentimental ties as Noelle is her mother Katie’s middle name and represents the close bond they share together as mother and daughter.
