Suri Cruise took a stroll through New York City in a casual ensemble amid an ongoing strained relationship with father, Tom Cruise.

The recent high school graduate was seen walking down the street in the sunny Big Apple, wearing short denim overalls and flip-flops. Underneath Suri’s jean outfit was a black sports bra. The future college student left one strap of her overalls hanging off her shoulders. With her hair in a messy updo, she highly resembled her mother Katie Holmes when the actress was a star on the 1990s show Dawson’s Creek.

Suri seemed to be content going solo as she made her way through New York. Tom Cruise’s daughter has been spotted more around New York City. Last week, Suri was photographed when she was running errands in the city. She donned a teddy hoodie, blue joggers, and suede shoes, letting her long brunette hair flow straight. Suri looked at ease and comfy.

Suri seemed to be getting some things in order before beginning her new life at Carnegie Mellon in the fall. Earlier this summer Suri graduated from LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.

Katie was there to support her and Tom’s daughter at her graduation. However, her famous dad wasn’t in attendance, instead he was at a Taylor Swift concert. Suri and Tom have been estranged in recent years, which is most likely why she’s going by a new name.

“In her school’s graduation ceremony program, Suri goes by ‘Suri Noelle’ instead of ‘Suri Cruise,’” according to People. Ms. Suri Noelle is “leaning towards” studying fashion at Carnegie Mellon, according to The Daily Mail.

“She is a smart girl, and she is turning into a very intelligent mature young woman,” an insider divulged to the media outlet. “She has a very close group of loyal friends, and she knows exactly where she comes from.”

While Suri seems ready to take the world by storm, Katie is reportedly “overwhelmed” at the thought of Suri attending school in Pittsburgh.

“Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective,” a source revealed to the news outlet. Since Tom and Katie divorced in 2012, following six years of marriage, Suri has been seen mostly with Katie. Just 10 days after their divorce was finalized, Katie got primary custody of Suri, and Tom was granted visitation, per People.

It was reported that the Mission Impossible icon paid Katie $400,000 per year until Suri’s 18th birthday, and is now going to pay her college fees. Suri and Tom have been photographed together for 11 years because he allegedly has distanced himself from her because of religion.

Tom is an active Scientologist, and Suri doesn’t want to convert to the Top Gun star’s religion.
