Utica’s “Voice” Sofronio Vasquez has returned to his native Republic of the Philippines, where he is gearing up for his first solo performance since competing on the American television singing competition.

As he prepares for his upcoming show on Jan. 18 in Cebu, Vasquez has been reconnecting with friends and family while also engaging with the media, including a memorable meeting with a prominent national figure.

Vasquez met President Ferdinand R. Marcos at the President’s Hall, Malacañang Palace.

This special event included a question-and-answer session, followed by a captivating performance from the Season 26 winner of NBC’s “The Voice.”

Vasquez delivered a heartfelt rendition of the iconic song “Imagine” by John Lennon, serenading both the president and his wife, Marie Louise Cacho Araneta Marcos.
