Reba McEntire left a supportive letter and an unexpected “good luck charm” for pop-country star Kelsea Ballerini on The Voice.
According to People, Ballerini found the letter on the judge’s chair that McEntire occupied for three seasons before her departure. Ballerini has taken over the chair for season 27 of The Voice, which premiered this week.
McEntire also left the “Cowboys Cry Too” singer a “little good luck charm in case you need it”—the Queen Reba crown. Apparently the Queen of Country decided to abdicate the throne and pass on both crown and judge’s chair to the next generation.
Ballerini didn’t hesitate to give the sparkling crown a try, saying “I feel so fancy.”
We’ll see if the other judges bow down to Ballerini at the end of the competition this season. She is judging The Voice along with Michael Bublé, John Legend, and Adam Levine. Episodes air Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. If you missed Ballerini’s crowning, you can also stream the episode on Peacock.
