Tom met Nicole Kidman while playing lovers in the movie Days of Thunder. They were married in 1990 and adopted two children together – Isabella in 1992 and Connor in 1994. They announced their split in February 2001 and he filed for divorce two days later.

In a rare interview about their marriage, Nicole talked about filming Eyes Wide Shut with Tom in 1999.

It has been rumored, but never confirmed, that Tom dated actress Nazanin Boniadi from November 2004 to January 2005.

At this point in the timeline, Tom reportedly was set up with Sofia Vergara, who was still an up-and-coming actress at the time.

It has been rumored that Will Smith invited Sofia to attend a pre-Oscar party, where she was set up with Tom. She reportedly did not pursue a relationship with him though.

In a 2017 interview with The Daily Beast, a reporter said to Sofia, “I remember reading that you had dated Tom Cruise, and a few months after you two split, he proposed to Katie Holmes. But I haven’t heard too much about what it was like to be with Tom.”

Hayley Atwell – NOT TRUE!

While filming the upcoming Mission: Impossible movie together, there were rumors that Tom was dating co-star Hayley Atwell. These weren’t true though.

In July 2023, Hayley shared that she viewed Tom, and their director Christopher McQuarrie as “two uncles.”

“I would be like, ‘Ooh, there’s some weird rumours, and it feels base, it feels a little dirty, it feels grubby, it’s not what I’m about,’” she added. “Why are things being assumed or projected onto me about my relationship with my work colleague and boss?”

Hayley does admit that the rumors were “upsetting” because “it’s involving people in my actual life, my personal life, who have to be on the receiving end of that. It becomes invasive.”

Elsina Khayrova

Tom was linked to Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova in December 2023 after they were spotted during a party in London.

“They were inseparable – clearly a couple,” an insider told the Daily Mail. “He seemed to be besotted with her.”

The report claims that Tom and Elsina were seen dancing with each other for most of the night. It was also said that Tom “politely” declined requests for photos from other partygoers.

By late March 2024, it was reported that the couple split over concerns about her ex-husband, a Russian oligarch, talking about their relationship.
