Tom Cruise wowed audiences as he jumped down over a ledge attached to a harness, utilizing his Mission Impossible skills to close the 2024 Paris Olympics with a bang.

Ironically, more than not was taken aback by the Hollywood star’s seemingly “puffy” face rather than his incredibly fearless feat. Countless took to X, formerly Twitter, to comment on Tom’s face after he completed one of his signature stunts, which includes motorcycle riding, and diving off of cliffs. Or in this case a ledge.

Although Tom hasn’t confirmed or denied whether or not he has gotten work done on his face, consultant plastic surgeon Kshem Yapa speculates on the procedures he might’ve had.

Dr. Yapa talked to the Daily Mail about Tom’s rumored plastic surgery, revealing there was a possibility that he had gotten a facelift along with fat grafting.

“It can be an effective combination, and it’s an operation I frequently do myself, but you have to take care with the amount of fat you put into the face,” he told the news outlet. “As we age, two things happen — we develop skin laxity, so the face droops and you see deeper nose-to-mouth lines, jowls and a loose neck.”

He continued: “We also lose volume, from around the temples and mid face, which can lead to a more gaunt appearance.”

The medical expert broke down how facelifts and fat grafts work.

“A facelift moves the facial tissue back into their more youthful position, while fat — taken from elsewhere in the body, usually the stomach or flanks, and placed into the face using tiny injections — supplements lost volume,” Dr. Yapa said. “But those fat grafts will still behave like stomach fat, even in the face.”

Dr. Yapa disclosed that doctors “warn patients” about how weight gain can affect how face grafts look.

“So we warn patients if they put on weight, they’ll put it on in their face quite visibly. You also have to be judicious in how much you graft into the face, for this reason,” he explained. The facelift surgery expert confessed that there was a “characteristic look” for faces that have an over-done fat transfer to the face, per the Daily Mail.

“It’s a puffy, mask-like appearance where the mid-face doesn’t move,” Dr.Yapa shared.
