Chance the Rapper is at a crossroads on The Voice.
In a clip premiering exclusively with PEOPLE ahead of Tuesday night’s episode of The Voice, team Chance’s RLETTO and Val T. Webb sang their hearts out for a chance to remain in the competition after the battle rounds.
After their stunning performance of Whitney Houston’s “Saving All My Love for You,” the contestant got a standing ovation from coaches Chance the Rapper, Dan + Shay, Reba McEntire and John Legend.
“That was one of the most iconic performances I’ve ever seen,” Dan Smyers, 36, tells the contestants. “Val, you’ve got such range and such a beautiful tone in your higher register there and so much control. RLETTO you’re a star man. That richness in the lower register of your voice, man. I was getting goosebumps, I was feeling it. You guys are both so good.”

Shay Mooney, 32, adds, “RLETTO, you have that signature tone. You know exactly who you are. Your outfit is absolutely fire. I can’t wait to buy your records. Your voices are absolutely timeless.”
Legend also complimented both contestants — and told Chance the Rapper, 30, he wasn’t going to tell him “what to pick.”
“RLETTO, your voice has so much character and vibe and you have such an artistic point of view. Val, your voice is pure and beautiful,” the “All of Me” singer, 45, says. “You have such wonderful control over it. Your tone sounded so sweet. Do you want this pure, beautiful vocalist like Whitney or RLETTO who is a little funkier?”
McEntire agreed both contestants were exceptional — but there was one that caught her eye.
“Val, you just reminded all of us why you got a four-chair turn. Your vocals are stupendous, beautiful, sweet. I can listen to you all day long,” the “Fancy” singer, 68, says. “RLETTO, I love your style, the way you sing. Val just slays me with her vocals — I would have to choose Val.”

It was then time for Chance the Rapper to give his final notes before decided who stays and who goes home.
“They were just singing Whitney Houston. That’s the toughest thing you can do on this stage. RLETTO, you really showed out and I hope that you feel that because when you were in your lower register, the movement that you were doing was very signature,” he says.
Adding, “Val, you are a generational talent. Obviously you had the vocal control but your actual physical body control when you directed the band for that break that they did — it reminded us that you’re seasoned and that you know what you’re doing.”
