Rumour has it Tom Cruise may have a new woman in his life.

The Hollywood actor recently invited Spanish-American singer Victoria Canal to visit him on the Oxfordshire set of Mission: Impossible 8 to watch him film for the day – which is “just not something he does for his random friends”, a crew member told British media.

“When she turned up, there was much gossip: is she Tom’s new romantic partner? It might have seemed unlikely that they would become anything more than friends but they are pretty much inseparable,” said the source. “They have been seeing a lot of one another and Victoria is beautiful. It’s all been happening in plain sight.”

It’s not the first time the duo – who have a 35-year age gap – have set tongues wagging.

In July they made headlines after the Top Gun: Maverick star was seen giving the 25-year-old and her brother a helicopter ride around London, per People. They also took selfies together at the Twisters premiere, as seen in photos on Instagram.

“Not tom cruise flying me & my brother in a heli to the @twistersmovie premiere !!!! lolol,” Canal wrote in the caption.

Victoria Canal is a singer songwriter with multicultural roots. According to Why Now, she was born in Germany to an American mum and Spanish dad, and moved around a lot when she was young. Per her interview with the publication, her grandmas inspired her to get into music. “My grandma on my mum’s side was a piano teacher and choir director, so I would go to church with her and sit in on the choir,” she shared. “Also, my Cuban grandma loved singing and dancing and traditional Cuban songs. So it was really my [grandmas] that showed me music,” she added.

Although Canal has been on the music scene for years, her fame grew thanks to Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who reached out to her in 2021 after hearing her songs online, per The New Yorker. According to the magazine, he introduced her to Parlophone Records, who she later signed with.

“Chris Martin is like the guy you know; he’s the songwriter of all songwriters, forever in my life,” Canal told Why Now. “When I was 14 gigging at restaurants, my main CV description was: ‘can play any Coldplay song.’”

Canal was born without her right arm due to a condition called Amniotic Band Syndrome, according to Today. But she doesn’t want that to define her. “I don’t want to be the one-armed singer. Stevie Wonder isn’t the blind singer. He’s Stevie f***ing Wonder,” she shared in an episode of The Third Story with Leo Sidran podcast.

She also opened up about how she’s an advocate for differently abled people. “Whatever you look like, whatever you’re feeling you are accepted you are enough. You are more than enough. You’re capable of doing excellent things in your life. You should try your best. Don’t give up on yourself. Show up for your day. Every day.”

Canal shared the story of how she met Cruise in the comments section of her helicopter post on Instagram. “We met backstage at [Glastonbury Festival] and talked about the upcoming premiere we were both going to,” she replied to one comment. “And he said, ‘Roll with me! I’ll take you guys in the heli!’”
