With season 27 of The Voice premiering tonight, fans anxiously await to see the new pool of singers. Although excited about the new season, the show said goodbye to Reba McEntire just last season. While the coaches often change throughout the seasons, Reba became a popular figure on the show. And to make it even better, the contestants loved her. She helped Asher HaVon walk away the winner of season 25. But with a new lineup of coaches, here is the reason Reba might not be returning to The Voice.

For those following Reba’s career, the hitmaker did more than release music. Although finding her footing in the entertainment business thanks to country music, she turned that fame into a career that featured her helming her own show Reba. Having worked in front of the camera for decades, Reba returned to television back in October 2024 with Happy’s Place.

With Reba spending time on set with her boyfriend Rex Linn and Melissa Peterman, fans appeared to love the singer’s return. Although ordering a first season, details about the future of Happy’s Place are still in limbo as NBC continues to discuss the future of the show. But with Happy’s Place bringing over 14 million viewers, it is only a matter of time before the network calls for a second season.

Reba McEntire Seemed To Have Found Her Happy Place For Now

As Reba shared her excitement to return to acting, her commitment to Happy’s Place seemed to be the reason she didn’t return to The Voice. Knowing the hectic schedule that comes with competing on The Voice, the singer could be dealing with conflicting dates and decided to focus on her show.

Although Reba’s time on The Voice is unclear, a return could happen in the future. After leaving in 2019, Adam Levine announced his return to the show for season 27. Thrilled to be back on set, the singer will compete against the other coaches including John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, and Michael Bublé, who won season 26 with Sofronio Vasquez.

Don’t miss the season 27 premiere of The Voice, airing tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and available to stream the following day on Peacock.
