Growing up in a family full of country music, it seemed only a matter of time before Thomas Rhett made his way to the stage. And spending less than two decades in country music, the singer proved himself to be a top name in the genre as he recorded hit songs like “Marry Me”, “Beer Can’t Fix”, and “Make Me Wanna.” He also helped other country singers like Lee Brice, Florida Georgia Line, and even Jason Aldean. Rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the genre, Rhett recently opened up about the time he shared an elevator with Post Malone.

Appearing on CMT, Rhett juggled more than a few questions about his career in country music. But when asked which star he would love to be stuck with in an elevator, the singer held up a picture of Malone. He said, “Coversation’s never dull.” He didn’t stop there as he recalled Malone getting on an elevator with him. “I did get stuck in an elevator with Post. I was trying to leave this party that he was coming to. And I got into the elevator and he goes, ‘You’re staying, right?’”

Thomas Rhett Hoping To Collaborate With Post Malone In The Future

While wanting to go home, Rhett knew he needed to stay. “I looked at my wife and was like, “We’re staying.” With Malone making his debut in country music with F-1 Trillion, the singer collaborated with several legends in the genre. But none of them were Rhett. But that doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future as Rhett insisted he would love to collaborate. “C’mon Post, don’t let me down.”

As for the video, fans loved watching Rhett discuss his life in country music as comments read, “I love Thomas Rhett! He’s so down to earth, such a wonderful family man and great artist.” Another person added, “A Post Malone and a Thomas Rhett song some would say we would die a happy man with that collaboration somehow I hope Thomas sees this comment and laughs LOL.”

Continuing to expand his career in country, Rhett released his seventh studio album, About a Woman, back in August.
