COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The search continues for a former Texas A&M student who went missing earlier this month in Houston.

The family of 24-year-old Sydney Marquez is asking the public to help keep her name in the public eye as search efforts continue.

Sydney Marquez grew up in El Paso, the youngest of four daughters. Her friends and family said she’s passionate, kind, and determined.

“Sydney was very driven,” her older sister Kayla said. “She really remained focused on her studies, and even though she picked a really tough course workload, she stuck with it.”

In 2023, she graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in neuroscience. Her family said she has dreams of using her education to help others.

“She would advocate for everyone,” her other sister said Clarissa said. “She was just a really great person.”

The young Aggie was visiting a friend in Houston when she disappeared late at night on Dec. 11.

Surveillance video shows Sydney walking near the area where she was staying around midnight. Her car was later found abandoned in southwest Houston.
