“England. 1925. At a lavish country house party, a practical joke appears to have gone horribly, murderously wrong. It will be up to the unlikeliest of sleuths — the fizzingly inquisitive Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent (Mia McKenna-Bruce) — to unravel a chilling plot that will change her life, cracking wide open the country house mystery.”
The trailer (shared below) opens with the sound of a ticking clock, followed by a foreboding chime and breadcrumbs of clues, offering hints of what, when and where, while leaving the “who” in the whodunit a mystery for now. A shattered clock appears on the lawn of a country house after a lavish party, setting the cogs in motion on the investigation. “I’m not going to stop until I find out the truth,” asserts Lady Eileen.
McKenna-Bruce’s tenacious heroine is joined by a star-studded cast of sleuths and suspects that includes Helen Bonham Carter as Lady Caterham, the mother of Lady Eileen, who offers her daughter a stark word of warning in the trailer, while Martin Freeman takes on the supporting role of Superintendent Battle, a stoic Scotland Yard detective who assists in putting the pieces of the puzzle together. The ensemble is rounded out by Ed Bluemel as Jimmy Thesiger, Nabhaan Rizwan as Ronnie Devereux, and Corey Mylchreest as Gerald “Gerry” Wade, the murder victim at the center of the story, which spans three episodes (released at once).
‘Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials’ Could Spawn a Netflix Franchise
Netflix’s version of Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials is penned by former Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall. He also executive produced the series alongside Suzanne Mackie (The Crown), Chris Sussman (Good Omens), and Chris Sweeney (The Tourist), who directed all three parts as well. They were joined by Christie’s great-grandson, James Prichard, who has already suggested that there could be room for more adventures with the Seven Dials cast if the first outing proves successful with audiences. He said in a statement:
“Bundle Brent is one of my great-grandmother’s raft of interesting, humorous, and sharp young female characters. To see her brought to life through the words of Chris Chibnall and this production with Orchid Pictures and Netflix is a dream come true. I think viewers will love this world that we have created, and hope for more.”

Superintendent Battle appears in numerous Christie works, which could make the character, played by Martin Freeman in Seven Dials, a recurring figure in any potential franchise based on the renowned author’s extensive catalog. “Agatha Christie’s storytelling has been thrilling mystery lovers for generations, but there is still more for us to explore,” teased Anne Mensah, Vice President of Content at Netflix – which is already a major home for whodunits, with a library that spans several acclaimed hits and popular originals, but, by the sounds of it, the streaming giant could be looking to further expand its roster with Lady Eileen and company.
