Ant McPartlin and Lisa Armstrong broke up six years ago, and Ant has since gone on to welcome a son with new wife Anne-Marie Corbett.

Lisa Armstrong has taken to Instagram to vent her feelings about what a “true husband” should be – on what would have been her 18th wedding anniversary, had she and Ant McPartlin stayed together.
She wrote in a passionate post published on Instagram Stories (July 22),: “Marry a man who wants to be a husband, not a man who just wants a wife. A man who wants to be a husband is a man who’s willing to provide, protect and fulfil your dreams. He is ready to do whatever he can to make things work.”
She added cryptically: “A man who just wants a wife is a man who’s only thinking about what you can do for him, and not what he can do for you.” Lisa was said to be devastated when she and Ant split back in 2018 after 11 years of marriage – and even more so when Ant found love again and remarried three years later.
She too found romance again, but then unexpectedly broke up with her electrician boyfriend after three years. However, her latest post shared a picture of a woman’s engagement ring-clad hand clutching a man’s hand emblazoned with the words: “She said yes!”
It comes as Ant, new wife Anne-Marie and their son Wilder were snapped on a picturesque stroll around the Algarve today. The date chosen for the family holiday might ring bittersweet bells with Lisa, as it marks what would have been their 18th wedding anniversary.

She followed up with a repost this evening declaring: “I am too tired to be around people who make me anxious. Now I really just want to be around people who are good for me, good to me and nurturing to my soul.”
Another quote read: “Breathe girl, this is just a chapter. Not the whole story. Keep on going.”
Lisa has shared cryptic messages on Instagram in recent weeks which fans have interpreted as a dig at Ant following their painful split.

A follow-up read: “Sometimes you just have to let people be. Be who they are, do what they do, act how they act, say what they say.
“Let them live their version of reality, let them sit with their lies and delusion while you sit with the truth in peace.”
Lisa was also active on Instagram just hours after proud dad Ant posted his first ever photo of his little boy back in May.
She took to the app herself to share a Winston Churchill quote reading: “I no longer listen to what people say, I watch what they do. Behaviour never lies.”
