Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell received mixed reactions from audiences at home after he appeared on This Morning to talk about the talent show.
ITV fans who tuned into This Morning on Friday were less than impressed with Simon Cowell’s appearance. The music mogul appeared alongside fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli to discuss the upcoming live semi-finals on Saturday. As the pair spoke with former X Factor host Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond, fans were distracted by Simon’s outfit. For the first time in its 18-year history, the nation’s favourite talent show is introducing a brand new twist to the live semi-finals – the Golden Buzzer. In a show first, the buzzer will be used during the live rounds to send an act straight through to the grand finale each week.
As Simon spoke about the exciting live semi-finals, fans reacted online to his attire. One person posted on Instagram, “All that money .. & he dresses like that !?”
A second person said, “What on earth is Simon wearing?” as a third person said, “Come on, Simon, you look like you had long trousers on and then decided to cut them into shorts ! You’re one of the richest men in the world, yet you look like one of the scruffiest! Why?”
Simon arrived at the This Morning studio wearing a plain dark grey T-shirt, knee-length grey shorts, and black trainers. Meanwhile, Bruno sported a pair of black jeans and a smart linen shirt.
In each of the five live semi-final rounds, one of the judges or hosts, Ant & Dec, will be appointed to control the new Golden Buzzer. When they see a performance worthy of a place in the final, they will have just one opportunity to press it.
Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli as well as presenters Ant & Dec, will have just moments after each performance to make a decision which could change the course of an act’s journey, making them one huge step closer to securing the £250,000 winning prize and a place on the bill of the Royal Variety Performance.
The eight acts competing each night will put on the show of their lives, as they fight for that iconic Golden Buzzer to be pressed, taking them straight to the Grand final. The public will then vote for their winning act of the night, gaining a place in the live final.
