‘Lincoln Lawyer’ Season 4 Casts Cobie Smulders (EXCLUSIVE)
Cobie Smulders has joined “The Lincoln Lawyer‘s” upcoming fourth season at Netflix, Variety has learned exclusively.
Exact character details are being kept under wraps, but Smulders will appear alongside fellow Season 4 stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. As previously announced, Season 4 will be based on the Michael Connelly book “The Law of Innocence” and will consist of 10 episodes. Production is currently underway. This will not be Smulders first role at Netflix. She previously starred in the shows “A Series of Unfortunate Events” and “Friends From College” at the streamer, while she also appeared in multiple episodes of the Netflix revival of “Arrested Development.” Smulders is best known for her starring role in the hit CBS multi-cam “How I Met Your Mother.” She starred in the show throughout its nine-season run as Robin Scherbatsky. Her recent TV credits also include “Shrinking” at Apple TV+ as well as “Impeachment: American Crime Story,” the latter of which saw her play Ann Coulter. In film, Smulders is best known for playing Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe across multiple features.
She is repped by UTA and Gang Tyre.
David E. Kelley created the show for television and serves as an executive producer, while Ted Humphrey developed the show for TV and serves as co-showrunner and executive producer along with Dailyn Rodriguez. Connelly is also an executive producer on the show along with Ross Fineman, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson, Matthew J. Lieberman, Gladys Rodriguez. A+E Studios produces the series for Netflix. “The Lincoln Lawyer” has been a solid performer for Netflix since it launched back in 2022. The most recent season debuted on the streamer in Oct. 2024. It has made consistent appearances in Netflix’s weekly Top 10 chart with each season. The show has received good reviews from critics, as well, with the three available seasons holding an average 90% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
