If there is one thing Eminem knows how to do, it is stay relevant.
Some recent reports claimed that Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson, and Eminem were the most-searched male musicians on Google in 2024. While the trio’s inclusion felt plausible, placing Eminem at No. 3 seemed less convincing. So, we decided to dive into the data and run the numbers.
Using Google Trends, we explored search interest in the Arts & Entertainment category over the past 12 months, comparing Eminem, Michael Jackson, and Justin Bieber worldwide. The results were definitive: Eminem led and significantly outpaced his competitors. Here is what we found.
According to Google Trends, the rapper led searches worldwide in 2024, beating out Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson in the Arts & Entertainment category.
So, how does Google Trends work? Think of it as a scoreboard for what people are curious about online. It assigns a score out of 100, with 100 being peak popularity for a term. Over the past year, Eminem’s scores significantly spiked three times:
1. “Houdini” Release: Fans were hyped for his lead single from The Death of Slim Shady.
2. Album Drop: Searching went wild when “The Death of Slim Shady” hit streaming platforms.
3. Family News: In early October, Eminem surprised fans with a video for his song “Temporary” and revealed he was about to become a granddad.

Trends on the chart are colour-coded:
– Blue: Eminem
– Yellow: Michael Jackson
– Red: Justin Bieber
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson had their moments but could not quite keep up. Bieber’s biggest week came in late September after he and Hailey Bieber appeared in public together for the first time after welcoming their first child. But even Bieber’s baby buzz did not dethrone Eminem, whether in their professional category or general searches.

Here is how the numbers stack up:
Arts & Entertainment category: Eminem leads with a score of 40, followed by Michael Jackson (30) and Justin Bieber (11).
All categories: Eminem holds the top spot at 33, with Michael Jackson trailing closely at 28 and Justin Bieber at 26.
Things got even more interesting when we threw Drake and Kendrick Lamar into the mix. Their beef sparked so much interest within the community that it had to impact their search profiles.
Indeed, a spike between late April and mid-May coincided with their diss exchange, which fascinated the public. But it was Drake’s February moment that truly left the mark. What did happen? Well, it had nothing to do with music. In early February, Drake became the centre of attention due to an alleged NSFW video leak that sparked widespread speculation on social media. The clip, which appeared to show Drake or someone resembling him in an intimate setting, caused an uproar among fans and trended across multiple platforms.

– Blue: Eminem
– Yellow: Michael Jackson
– Red: Justin Bieber
– Green: Kendrick Lamar
– Purple: Drake
Still, even this fascination with allegedly Drake’s private parts did not help him to assume the leading role. Across every metric, Eminem consistently dominated. The final score between these five in the Arts & Entertainment category is:
– Eminem: 20
– Michael Jackson: 15
– Drake: 13
– Justin Bieber: 5
– Kendrick Lamar: 4
Adding other names like Travis Scott, Bruno Mars, or The Weeknd did not change the story: Slim Shady ruled Google in 2024.
It is clear the world cannot get enough of Eminem. Whether it is new music, family milestones, or his timeless impact, Marshall Mathers remains in a league of his own.
