Detroit rapper Eminem is a grandfather, and that’s not where the story ends.
Congratulations are in order for Detroit rapper Eminem, 52, who is now officially a grandfather. Grandpa Shady has a nice ring to it, right?
Eminem’s daughter, influencer Hailie Jade, shared a photo of her newborn son April 4 on Instagram and announced his birth. Fans have grown to know and love Jade over the years, first really getting to know her from references in Eminem’s early songs.
Here’s the twist. She didn’t just name her son any random name. She named him Elliot Marshall McClintock. Marshall Mathers should like that one.
According to the post, April 4 was Elliot’s official due date, but he came a few weeks earlier. He looks happy and healthy in the Instagram photo.
Hailie Jade, who is the host of the “Just a Little Shady” podcast, wed Evan McClintock in 2024. Eminem, a platinum-selling artist broke out in the late 1990s and early 2000s, released his 12th studio album, The Death of Slim Shady, in 2024.
“The Death of Slim Shady is a star with the yips, sweating to reassure everyone—especially himself—he’s still got it,” Rolling Stone magazine said of the release in their review of the album.
“He was so provocative on his first few albums not because of his lyrics—plenty of horrorcore and gangster rap records were just as gnarly—but because he anticipated the criticism his lyrics would inspire,” Pitchfork said in their album review. Regarding their favorite song on the new set, Pitchfork stated, “He set up the hall of mirrors and led you right into it. Despite its dated, unnecessary content, ‘Brand New Dance’ might be the best song here.”
They added, “It comes from the era when he still felt comfortable in his own skin, his gleefully provocative nature and undeniable skill sharing the same space.”
