EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) – Authorities in Emporia are searching for a 28-year-old elementary school teacher who went missing Friday night.

Rebecca Rauber was last seen leaving the Town Royal bar at 405 Commercial St. in downtown Emporia at 11:30 p.m. Friday.

According to KVOE, Emporia Police Sgt. Marcial Hernandez said Rauber went to Town Royal around 11 p.m. and left after what appears to be a minor verbal disagreement with at least one friend. Nearby cameras show Rauber walking westbound on Fifth past Merchant just after 11:30 p.m. before disappearing.

Loved ones said in a Facebook post that she left her phone, keys, jacket and purse. They have not heard from her and are concerned for her safety. The chief has set up a meeting with the Emporia Police Department Sunday to make a more in-depth search.

Rebecca is 5 feet 8 inches tall with brown eyes and brown hair with blonde highlights. She may have been wearing a Wichita State University sweatshirt.

Anyone with information should call Emporia Police at 620-343-4225 or the Kansas Bureau of Investigation at 785-296-4017.
