EXCLUSIVE: “It’s Such a Privilege” — Ginny & Georgia Star Reveals Season 4 Is Filming Soon… And It’s Happening Sooner Than You Think 🎬🔥👀

After over two years of waiting, Netflix brought viewers back to Wellsbury, Massachusetts, this week with Season 3 of the hit mother-daughter dramedy Ginny & Georgia. The much-anticipated return finally explores the aftermath of Georgia’s arrest at her wedding for the murder of Cynthia’s husband, Tom, as she and her family navigate the potentially life-changing trial and the public ridicule the crime brings. Although viewers are still recovering from the twists and turns, including another shocking finale, progress is moving along swiftly for Season 4, and series star Brianne Howey has a big update for when cameras will be rolling again.

Howey recently sat down for an episode of Collider Ladies Night with Perri Nemiroff, where she was asked about the status of Season 4 and when she and the rest of the cast would be back on set. The last major development came back in February, when the show’s official Instagram page shared a photo collage of the creative team on a call for the first day of the Season 4 writers’ room. Thanks to Ginny & Georgia getting a two-season order back in 2023, the team has had more breathing room to try and bring back the audience favorite a bit quicker than Season 3. For the actress, the dual renewal was a breath of fresh air, knowing that the story would have plenty more room to grow and build up to bigger payoffs:

“It’s such a privilege, and it’s not a situation I’ve ever been in before. It was so thrilling. You can almost relax a little bit in knowing we have more story to tell. You get to trust the process a little bit more because you know what certain payoffs are going to be.”

When asked directly about when Season 4 gets underway, Howey couldn’t give an exact date, though she did confirm it’s happening fairly soon. “For when we go back to start working on it? It’ll be later this year,” she said. Production on the past two seasons has spanned about five months, with about nine months of post-production afterward, though it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the show could return late next year if all goes smoothly.

Sarah Glinski will presumably be back at the helm as showrunner in Season 4 after taking over for Debra J. Fisher in the most recent run. After the events of Season 3, the series will have to address the stunning reveal that Georgia is pregnant with her third child, and the father is a mystery. It could be Paul, though the mayor is already looking at divorce post-trial, but the kindly Joe is a serious candidate after the pair finally slept together. Their potential relationship is likely to be explored as well, especially if he turns out to be the dad. Ginny and Austin, meanwhile, are both facing big changes and a bit of a breakdown in their relationship after the former persuaded the other to lie and pin Tom’s murder on his biological father, Gil. On top of everything, Ginny is still going through therapy and may be spending more time with her father, Zion, after he filed for joint custody.

Whatever comes next for the family, the same cast is likely to be involved throughout it all, with Howey and Antonia Gentry leading the charge. Season 3 saw a couple of changes with Manifest‘s Ty Doran and The Last of Us‘s Noah Lamanna joining the established group. Beyond them, the rest of the supporting cast remained roughly the same with Felix Mallard as Marcus, Sara Waisglass as Max, Diesel La Torraca as Austin, Jennifer Robertson as Ellen, Scott Porter as Paul, Raymond Ablack as Joe, Nathan Mitchell as Zion, Katie Douglas as Abby, Chelsea Clark as Norah, Katelyn Wells as Silver.

Ginny & Georgia Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix. Stay tuned here at Collider for more later this year when production gets into full swing. You can watch Howey’s full episode of Ladies Night  below.
