Forget the explosion, the most impressive scene of Reacher season 3 will make you call 911 urgently

Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher in Reacher Season 3

The first three episodes of Reacher season 3 feature some outstanding visuals and effects, but one impressive tracking shot takes the cake. Reacher season 3, episodes 1-3 introduce viewers to a small coastal Maine town that is home to much more than scenic views and lobster rolls. Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson), an ex-military vagabond, works with DEA Agent Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) to investigate a suspicious wealthy man named Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall) and uncover his shady rug business, Bizarre Bazaar.

Reacher season 3 has a slate of new villains, supporting characters, and fantastic action set pieces. It wouldn’t be a true Reacher season without a new mission in a new setting after season 1 took place in the rural southern town of Margrave, while season 2 was mostly set in New York City. Reacher season 3 ups the ante from previous seasons in numerous ways, including bigger physical threats such as Paulie Van Hoven, a new plot structure involving Reacher becoming an undercover informant, and exciting new visual elements that elevate the Prime Video show to new heights.

Reacher Season 3, Episode 1’s Mansion Climb Shot Is Massively Impressive

Reacher Starts Season 3 With An Impressive Stunt & Tracking Shot

The Reacher season 3 production team has certainly taken it up a notch, so much so that I was impressed by all the incredible scenes they fit into its first episode alone. There’s what appears to be a single-take tracking shot of Reacher scaling down Zachary Beck’s mansion in Reacher season 3, episode 1, then hitting the floor and turning around.

These types of scenes would typically be done with editing cuts or filmed from a distance to hide the face of the stuntman doing the climb. However, the transition from the climb to showing Ritchson turning around is seamless, making it look like Ritchson did the stunt himself.

Reacher Season 3 Episodes 1-3 Endings Explained

Film franchises like Mission: Impossible and John Wick set the bar for action heroes doing their own stunts, which Reacher seems to be taking inspiration from in its third season.

It’s a relief that Ritchson continues to find ways to be physically challenged with each new Reacher season, rather than going through the motions.

Ritchson has to pull off several risky maneuvers in the first three episodes of Reacher season 3, even running barefoot on wet coastal rocks during night scenes as shown in episode 3. It’s a relief that Ritchson continues to find ways to be physically challenged with each new Reacher season, rather than going through the motions.

Reacher Season 3 Has Already Had Some Standout Scenes In Its Opening 3 Episodes

The first three episodes of Reacher season 3 have already delivered some top-notch action and comedy moments, starting with its opening scene. The fantastic twist that the attempted kidnapping of Richard Beck was all part of Reacher and the DEA’s plan was phenomenal, setting up a phenomenal conclusion to the premiere episode.

Other standout scenes in the first three episodes of Reacher season 3 include Reacher tricking Paulie into punching himself in the face and the unforgettable and intense Russian Roulette scene. Not to mention the scenes in which Reacher viciously kills Angel Doll, shows Richard’s high school bully who’s boss, and pulls a fast one on Chapman Duke, proving that even though he’s working with the feds, he operates on his own version of the law. With several episodes left of Reacher season 3, there are bound to be more incredible moments ahead.
