HEARTBREAK HOOK: Lola Tung finally breaks her silence on The Summer I Turned Pretty’s devastating ending — and her words will leave fans reeling.
As Belly’s love story takes its most painful turn yet, the star reveals what the finale really means for her character’s future.

Lola Tung speaks out about the ‘heartbreaking’ ending of The Summer I Turned Pretty
I’m both excited and nervous
We’re nearly at the finish line, and it sounds like the ending of The Summer I Turned Pretty is going to hit us right in the feels. Lola Tung, who plays Belly Conklin, has spoken out about what’s in store, and it doesn’t sound like everyone’s going to be happy.
Next week, we’ll finally get the answer we’ve been waiting for, and I’m both excited and nervous. In the upcoming episode, we’ll find out which Fisher brother, if any, Belly chooses in the end.
Now, Lola Tung has revealed that the ending will be a ‘heartbreaking’ one.
So, what has she said about the ending of The Summer I Turned Pretty?

In an interview with E! News, Lola teased that the love triangle between Belly and the Fisher brothers is coming to a bittersweet close. “Everybody at some point throughout the show, throughout all three seasons, will be a little bit heartbroken,” she said. “It’s just how it goes. And there is heartache that comes with love and with big love stories and with complicated love stories.”
So whether you’re Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah, it looks like someone’s going to walk away upset. And judging by Lola’s words, it might even be us, the viewers.
In Jenny Han’s final novel, We’ll Always Have Summer, Belly does end up marrying one of the Fisher boys. But Lola has hinted that the show might take a slightly different route. She didn’t exactly say what happens, but she did say Jenny has done “such a good job” making sure the journey feels satisfying.
“I hope that they are satisfied with the story and the journey because I think Jenny did such a good job with it,” Lola said. “We had so much fun filming it and I feel very proud of it. I think it’s going to be pretty epic.”
Jenny Han herself has also previously said that the ending of the show will be different.
Lola also admitted that she found it hard to let go of Cousins Beach after four years of filming. “I get very emotional at the end of every season,” she said. “I always cry on the last day and it’s emotional, you never know if there’s going to be another season or whatever. Of course, this was very emotional because it is the final season.”
She added, “I cried, naturally. Especially walking away from the house and from the locations that we’ve been using since season one. Those have been with us since the beginning. So, it’s weird to walk away from those.”
Okay, going to go grab some tissues now.
