Holly Willoughby’s co-star: ‘She will have to keep going after the divorce’
Piers reveals what’s next for troubled Holly and Phillip

He slammed daytime TV for being “infested by a pack of savages” after Phillip Schofield received a quick 35-second send off to commemorate his 21-year career on This Morning last week – and now Piers Morgan says there’s nothing worse than going through a TV “divorce”.
The legendary broadcaster, who left ITV’s Good Morning Britain in 2021 amid controversy over remarks he made about Meghan Markle and revealed that he felt “let down” by his pal and co-host Susanna Reid at the time, exclusively told Closer at the Chelsea Flower Show, “All I’d say is that with TV marriages, they usually end in a spectacular divorce, like mine did!

“Holly and Phil’s has too! They’ll have to cope with what’s happened and work their way through it. TV marriages are trickier than actual marriages – they’re complicated!
“In the end, everything in showbiz is cyclical – Phil did over 20 years and that’s a long time to be in one job anyway. And as my grandmother always said, ‘One day you’re cock of the walk and the next, you’re a feather duster!’”

But Piers thinks there could still be a bright future for Holly Willoughby and Phil – though not together.
He adds, “I’ve known them both for years and I’ve not known a nasty side to either of them. I think Phil will be fine because he’s a very good presenter and will find a new show. Holly now has so many choices for her co-host. We’ll have to wait and see who it is! They just have to get back on their feet and get going again.”
