New leads in hunt for fugitive ‘pedo’ football coach Travis Turner are confirmed by cops as search reaches critical date
US Marshals released a new wanted poster for Turner on Monday
POLICE have confirmed they are looking into new leads into the mysterious disappearance of high school football coach Travis Turner.
Cops told local outlets on Tuesday they were “following up on leads” after the 46-year-old vanished without a trace on November 20 just before he was hit with ten child sex charges.

They did not specify what the leads were.
Virginia State Police’s statement marks almost two weeks since Turner was last seen in Appalachia.
Investigators said they had been heading to his home to speak with him about a probe.
At the time, they confirmed they were not going to his home to arrest him.
But five days later cops confirmed Turner was facing a slew of criminal charges.
In addition to the child pornography charges, he has been accused of using a computer to solicit a minor.
His disappearance has sparked a large scale manhunt and law enforcement was seen at now closed Appalachia High School on Monday, WJHL reports.
Search and rescue teams have combed the Appalachian hinterland – an area that Turner’s ex-classmates said he was familiar with.
Turner coached the nearby Union High School Bears football team.
They were in the middle of an undefeated season at the time of his disappearance.
On Monday, US Marshals released a new wanted poster for Turner in which they warned he could be armed.
A reward of up to $5,000 is available.
The poster states that Turner is wanted on multiple felony charges.
Anyone with information should call 911, the Virginia State Police or submit tips via the US Marshals Service hotline.
Turner’s wife, Leslie, also 46, has strongly defended him, declaring his innocence.
She told The Mail Turner is a good dad and husband.
She initially refused to shed any light on rumors he had fled his home armed with a rifle.
In a shock turn, she deleted her social media accounts.
Her Facebook account was peppered with football-related content before it was suddenly shut down.
His son Bailey, 23, told The Mail that the team’s latest win was bittersweet.
Turner was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, sweatpants and glasses, according to cops.
